A high-latitude bog that is found in many areas of
permafrost and boreal forest. Muskegs typically have tussocks
of grass separated by patches of water and may have
tamarack and black spruce trees rimming the edges of the
bog. Muskegs may eventually be filled in by organic material
and convert to boreal forest.
