The northern continents of North America and
Eurasia, that existed north of the Tethys Ocean in Alex du
Toit’s alternate reconstruction of Alfred Wegener’s Pangea.
Du Toit argued that Pangea was not a single simple supercontinent
but for much of the Paleozoic consisted of the northern
Laurasian landmass, joined in the west, and separated by the
Tethys Ocean from the southern continents of Gondwana.
